Adventure # 48 - Interview a PCT through-hiker (10 points)

Here is a link to my thread, requesting info from a PCT hiker: http://mailman.backcountry.net/pipermail/pct-l/2012-August/061380.html

Here are some of the email responses I have gotten back:

1) How long have you been hiking?
My wife and I have been hiking for 112 days since we started at the
CA/Mexico border on April 29th. So about 3 and 3/4 months thus far.
2) How for do you have left to go?
We have come 1,800 miles so that means we have approximately 850 miles
to Canada! We are currently between the towns of Ashland and Crater
Lake in OR.
Good luck with the project!

Hi Erin,
I am sure you will get tons of responses, but here are my answers:
I have been backpacking since 1989--when I climbed Mt. Whitney. I started hiking when I was in my early 20s, so that's about 50 years.
I completed the Pacific Crest Trail in 2010. I did it in sections--all 2,650 miles of it.

Good luck on your game!

Adventure #115 - Go Geocaching with kids (20 points)

Cole and mommy went on a geocaching adventure! After following the Capture California link to REI's Expert Advice page we followed links to geocaching.com. Then we signed up at geocaching.com and then we got a set of GPS coordinates (in our area) to follow until we found the cache!

Cole is sitting on the rock that was hiding the cache! Next to him is the hidden treasure, our flag and the GPS coordinates/ directions.
